A collection of shoe laces of various lengths, hung where you can handily reach them, can be used in many ways. They are strong and easily tied and untied. The stiffened ends move easily through small holes like the ones in leash sticks.
Even though we have chenille in mind when proposing these finishing techniques, they work just as well for any yarn you may be using.
This particular fringe is especially nice for a stole. It is a series of relatively quick alternating overhand knots and looks a little more elaborate than braids and twists. Marie has used it on the ends of her chenille stoles and it holds very well. |
